You might have heard about cord blood storage but unaware about its benefits. This article would provide some important information of it. The cord blood is collected from the umbilical cord and placenta after the baby is born. The umbilical cord functions to transfer the nutrients and oxygen to the baby before its birth. This cord is generally discarded after the baby birth, but the cord blood consists of the stem cells which are used for the treatment of several diseases. It is beneficial for the human lives as it act as a life saver in curing most of the diseases.

You don’t worry about the cord blood storage procedures because it does not harm the mother and baby. The cord blood is taken just after the baby is birth when the umbilical and placenta is cut. This blood is then stored in the cord blood bank for future needs. It would be a wise decision which you take to save a human life. It could also be used if baby gets sick in future or by any family members. There are more chances of rejection in case of the stranger donation. This blood is transplanted to the people who suffer from blood disorder.
